CreepTV has begun production on Baby Girl, the upcoming horror feature based on Aylin Baykal’s novel of the same name.
The film, which has been in development since Baykal first announced the project in 2024, is now shooting in Oregon as the production moves from development into principal photography.
Baykal originally introduced Baby Girl as her debut horror novel, describing it as a psychological supernatural story exploring obsession, identity, greed and the darker side of human nature. At the time of the announcement, CreepTV also confirmed plans to develop the story as a feature film.
The film centers on Alexis Green, an 18-year-old whose birthday wish comes true — only to discover that getting what she wanted comes with consequences she never saw coming.
Scarlett Marianna Barnes stars as Alexis Green, with Aylin Baykal, Jayden Willis Brown, Aaron Landon Jackson and Anouska Leigh also appearing in the cast.
Baykal is credited as the writer, while Harley Coleman is credited as director on several current film databases. The project is being produced under CreepTV Productions.
“Baby Girl has been a project we’ve been building toward for a while,” says a representative for the production. “Getting the cameras up and running in Oregon is a major milestone for everyone involved. We’re excited to finally be able to make this story.”
The production’s move into filming comes nearly two years after the original novel announcement. In September 2024, Baykal spoke publicly about her plans to bring Baby Girl from the page to the screen, describing the project as one that had been close to her for some time.
While the production is keeping much of the story under wraps, the film is expected to retain the psychological and supernatural elements that were central to Baykal’s original concept.
Current film listings identify Baby Girl as a U.S. production and list its status as in production, with a release date yet to be announced.
For CreepTV, Baby Girl represents the latest expansion of a project that began in literary form and is now making its way onto the screen.
